Community Involvement

We enjoy being involved in our community. So if you're organising any events, or in need of sponsorship, contact the Branch Manager of your local Horizon branch in writing and we'll see what we can do.

We also have free tents available for use at events, functions or sporting days. Again, please contact your local Horizon branch to arrange a booking.

This year Horizon is looking forward to more involvement within our communities! We are once again proud sponsors of the Illawarra Australia Day baby, the Illawarra Australia Day Youth of the Year, Bermagui's 'Sculpture on the Edge', Mother's day Fun Run (Breast Cancer Research Foundation) and the Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival just to name a few.

CUFA Village Entrepreneur Initiative

Horizon Credit Union are also proud supporters of the Village Entrepreneur Initiative. The Village Entrepreneur Initiative is a program of support and funding that enables an individual in a developing country to seek a better life through micro business development.

By helping sponsor a Village Entrepreneur, you are helping not only an individual and their family but also a whole village community. When an individual develops a small business it provides employment for others. The people in this program all belong to a Credit Union and so in addition to employment opportunities any savings that they are able to accumulate are placed into their Credit Union. These savings are then lent out to other Credit Union members providing assistance and support to other village members. By helping one, members are helping many and in doing so strengthening a whole village community.

You can become a Community Investor for as little as $1.15 per day and give them the confidence and means to create a better life.
