2009 Illawarra Relay for Life

Once again this year Illawarra Horizon staff and their families will be walking in the 2009 Illawarra Relay for Life on Sep 19/20th. To help raise funds for the NSW Cancer Council we will be selling chocolates in our branches from the 4th August 2009.

CUFA Village Entrepreneur Initiative

Horizon Credit Union are proud supporters of the Village Entrepreneur Initiative. The Village Entrepreneur Initiative is a program of support and funding that enables an individual in a developing country to seek a better life through micro business development.

By helping sponsor a Village Entrepreneur, you are helping not only an individual and their family but also a whole village community. When an individual develops a small business it provides employment for others. The people in this program all belong to a Credit Union and so in addition to employment opportunities any savings that they are able to accumulate are placed into their Credit Union. These savings are then lent out to other Credit Union members providing assistance and support to other village members. By helping one, members are helping many and in doing so strengthening a whole village community.
